Although Trujillo is a relatively small town, it definitely has a Caribbean flair that brings with it different alternatives for night life. Without question, there are a lot of more options during the weekend, however, during the week days there are also some alternatives.

Rincon de los Amigos. This restaurant - bar is located on the beach, just below the main square in Trujillo. Although already listed in our restaurant section, it deserves another note as a bar. Generally a hang out for many of the tourists in town, it is also visited by many of the locals. Good music on weekdays and many times live music on weekends. It is a great source of information for travel towards the Moskitia region as well as to the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.

Bahia Bar. Under new management, this old tradition of Trujillo now offers a variety of music, including more tropical Latin American music. Good atmosphere, on the beach. Also serves food till 10:00 p.m. Open daily. Located in the area of the Trujillo airport.

Gringo Bar. Also located on the beaches in the airport section of Trujillo. A relatively new bar and restaurant, it has rapidly become a favorite of the local English speaking crowd in Trujillo. A very pleasant setting right on the beach. Good service and food. There is soon to be slot machines and limited gambling on premises.

Chino's Bar and Grill If you are looking for a good game of beach volleyball, this is the place to go! Daily games starting around 6:00 p.m. Good bar service, some of the coldest beers in town. This is also a good place for info on local tours, as owner is setting up a tour operating company. Also food until 10:00 p.m. Located on the far end of the Trujillo airport.

Cocopando Located in the Garifuna section of town, on the beach, this is a very interesting hang out where you will get a feel of the Garifuna culture. Very typical setting where punta music is by far the most popular. Although the place is safe, the road there is dark, so it is recommended to go in groups rather than alone. Occasionally there is live music on weekends.

Horfez Disco A good place to see the younger crowds on the weekends. Located downtown, a couple of blocks up the street from the Pantry Restaurant.

Truxillo Bay Disco The newest disco in town, with the best light and sound equipment in town. Located on a mountaintop, overlooking the Bay of Trujillo, there are spectacular views of the bay on moonlight nights. Has rapidly become a favorite amongst the locals. Open on weekends only.
